Love in the Age of Flight, my entry for Preggo Game Jam, was released and then I forgot to ever blog about it! Give it a try, and feel free to turn on the "easier combat" mode on the title screen if it's too hard. Most people are saying it's too hard.
Summer of Smut jam in progress!
Now that Preggo Game Jam is over, I'm working on my entry for the Summer of Smut game jam. This is a huge 3-month jam which goes all the way to .
I'm making steady progress. My current idea is for a rogue-lite sandbox dating sim/daily life sim. It's sort of like those old dating sims on Newgrounds where you move around between areas and have a few time slots every day to complete activities, grind stats, and talk to love interests.
The "rogue-lite" elements come in because the game is set on a cruise ship. You only have so many days to make connections before the voyage ends, and each cruise has a set of randomly-generated love interests and events. However, your character's own stats persist between cruises, so success is a bit easier each time.
A lot of this stuff is still in the nebulous early-planning stages, but I'm thinking that the game will keep track of passengers that you've formed a connection with, and make them reappear on later cruises so that you can continue working on your relationship. In my notes I've been calling them "VIPs". Once each cruise ends, all the passengers you never really interacted with are wiped away, but the VIPs are saved for future reuse. Hand-crafted storylines and quests could be assigned to passengers after they reach VIP status, so that they aren't wasted on people the player doesn't care about.
